Founded in 1954 as a firm specializing in hospital accounting, Denman & Company soon expanded into physician and medical practice work under the guidance of founder Donald R. Denman. After a 1957 merger, we were known as Denman & Dutton until 1965. Another merger increased the number of partners and staff, and the newest incarnation of the firm was located in the Insurance Exchange Building in downtown Des Moines.

The 1980s saw a major growth spurt for Denman & Company, as we expanded the practice to include construction, real estate, banking, transportation, and a wide range of privately owned businesses of all sizes. Expanding the breadth of our clientele required an expansion of services as well, so we began to offer litigation support, business valuation, merger and acquisition services, business continuity, and management consulting.

Denman & Company never lost sight of its origins, and in the 1990s we were recognized in the field of medical practice accounting, thanks to our role in the financial modeling, corporate structure, and formation of the Iowa Clinic. We still serve a number of medical clients.

Today Denman & Company is known for its team approach to doing business. Our team works together to find the right approach for each client, acting as a strategic partner for your short- and long-term goals.
